Its' nice to meet you

I am Dr. Paulina Domzal, a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who is passionate about finding the root cause of my patient’s symptoms in order to achieve optimal health and wellness. With a focus on evidence-based medicine, I use a holistic approach to create personalized treatment plans using both conventional and natural treatments.

While I treat a variety of health concerns, I have particular interest in treating complex chronic diseases such as autoimmune disease, neurological disorders, dermatological conditions, mental health, allergies, environmental toxins and hormonal conditions. I am passionate about staying up to date with current research and educating and empowering my patients to make informed decisions about their health. I believe that optimal health is achieved by directly treating primary health concerns, while also improving lifestyle habits including stress, diet, sleep, mood, energy and digestion. My diagnostic approach includes clinical diagnosis, physical exams and standard and specialized lab testing. Through the use of treatments including supplements, nutrition, botanical medicine, acupuncture, trigger point release, cupping and counselling, I work with my patients to restore balance and wellness both mentally and physically.

I began my academic journey at Simon Fraser University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with concentration in Active Health and Rehab. This was followed by medical school at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine where I earned a Naturopathic Doctorate. I am proud to have grown up in beautiful British Columbia and spends my free time travelling throughout the province, spending time with family and hiking with my partner and dog.

Modalities and treatments:

Clinical diagnosis

During our 75 minute initial visit I will gather information about you including detailed information about your health concerns and symptoms, family history, past medical history, social history, lifestyle etc. With this knowledge, we will work together to determine the root cause of your symptoms in order to treat holistically

Lab testing

Based on your health concerns we will determine whether labs are necessary. We can run standard labs through LifeLabs and also specialized lab testing depending on your health concerns. At Elysian Health we have a lab in-house and can draw your blood same day in the comfort of the clinic

Herbal medicine

Did you know some pharmaceuticals were made after discovering the health benefits of certain plants? For example, aspirin was made after discovering that salicin in the bark of the white willow tree had pain-relieving properties. Botanical medicine is a powerful tool for our health and there are many herbal options for different health concerns.

Cupping and trigger point release

Silicone cups are applied to areas of tension to improve blood flow to the area and release tension. Trigger point release entails applying pressure to areas of tension and breathing through the discomfort to allow the muscle to relax and release its grasp.

Acupuncture

As a naturopathic doctor I am trained in traditional chinese medicine (TCM). TCM uses a different method of diagnosis and then acupuncture points are selected based on this diagnosis. Using the information gathered from your initial visit, a personalized acupuncture protocol will be made and treatment can start as soon as your next visit.
